At the end of March, CAURUS Technologies was approved for entry into Phase 2 of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft’s deeptech accelerator program AHEAD. This means CAURUS Technologies and its development partner, the Fraunhofer Institute for High-Speed Dynamics Ernst-Mach-Institute (EMI), receive another round of funding, technological knowledge and entrepreneurial support to continue the go-to-market development of its dispersion extinguishing technology. For the next 12 months, the focus will be on further refining the water efficiency and precision extinguishing solution.
“We are proud to be among the selected external startups that Fraunhofer Ventures considers worthwhile to support. Fraunhofer’s EMI has been a great partner in our efforts to develop the groundbreaking mechanics for our vision of dispersion extinguishing,”, said Henrik Telle, Chief Financial Officer of CAURUS Technologies. Fraunhofer’s deeptech accelerator program AHEAD supports researchers within their innovation ecosystem to bring innovative high-tech products to market. Through AHEAD, the Frauhofer Gesellschaft provides technology and entrepreneurial know-how. CAURUS Technologies has been working with EMI since 2023 on developing a specific release mechanism for the dispersion extinguishing part. The company is working on an integrated system to fight wildfires from the air that is e based on a digitally guided and controlled extinguishing mechanism.
In 2023, CAURUS Technologies was first approved for Phase 1 of the AHEAD program with funding over 6 months. Phase 1 was successfully concluded in March 2024.
The company was founded end of 2022 by a team of engineering, management and finance professionals with combined 120 years of experience in aerospace and defense technology, corporate development and finance. The company aims to develop innovative solutions that can speed up the extinguishing process by multiplying water’s impact on fire.
