CAURUS Technologies has received funding support of EUR 300,000 from the State of Lower Saxony to further develop their “AeroDrop” project. The funding is provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) - Program Area: Stronger Developed Regions (SER) and administered by NBank Lower Saxony. “AeroDrop” aims to establish a demonstrator center in the State of Lower Saxony for CAURUS Technologies’ innovative firefighting system, a digitally guided, water-efficient extinguishing technology for aerial firefighting.
Here, the new system is to be further developed and tested in cooperation with state-wide firefighting units and civil protection organizations for use in wildfire fighting in Lower Saxony. This means, in particular, the development and in-situ testing of the intelligent CAURUS sensor technology, combined with the CAURUS software platform. The focus lies, among others, on measuring the impact of the water drop during the external load mission as well as creating situational awareness during this phase. A demonstrator will be provided to the State of Lower Saxony. The system is intended as a new “tool” in hazard prevention, supporting firefighting in the context of civil protection at a time of increasing fire risks.
CAURUS Technologies sensor is to complement a novel aerial aerosol extinguishing technology that transports water close to the fire and disperses it into myriads of droplets. Using the above-mentioned sensor technology, this allows a higher cooling and extinguishing effect to be achieved with significantly less water consumption. The extinguishing technology is currently being developed by CAURUS Technologies.
